Spark Africa: Dutch entrepeneur starts successful dairy company in Tanzania - Episode 4

Web Series

Fresh milk is not widely available in Tanzania because of small sale farming, hot weather and bad infrastructure. Thanks to the Dutch initiative Tanga Fresh there are fresh dairy products available in Tanzania's biggest city Dar es Salaam.
The factory is set up by Dutchman Lút Zeilstra in 1996 as a joint-venture between a group of Dutch cattle farmers and a Tanzanian cooperation of farmers. At the moment about 3000 small scale farmers are participating in the company.
