A pirogue is a fishing boat commonly used for fishing, and is not safe to hold many people, or travel far.
This film follows the journey of 30 men on a pirogue, and their young leader, in charge for the first time. Risking death on the boat and deportation or imprisonment upon arrival, these men believe they are off to a better life in Europe.
Moussa Toure's third film was nominated for the Un Certain Regard Award at the Cannes Film Festival this year. An honor only the Palm D'Or can best.
