A community was evicted from the Siyanda informal settlement, Durban (South Africa) in March 2009 in order to allow the construction of a road. One of the conditions of the eviction order was the provision of permanent housing within a year.
That was two years ago.
In February 2012, the Socio-Economic Rights Institute of South Africa filed a motion requiring that permanent housing be provided.
